Website Relaunch Consultant · Hamburg
A website relaunch without losing rankings, planned before a single screen is designed.
Most relaunches are commissioned as a design project and end as a visibility problem.
N-2V takes strategic ownership of the relaunch: target picture, page structure, SEO migration, conversion paths and the coordination of agency, developers and your internal team, in one measurable 90-day plan.

The problem
A relaunch changes everything at once, and measures none of it.
New structure, new URLs, new copy, new theme, new agency. When all of it goes live on one day, nobody can say afterwards which decision cost the enquiries. Five patterns account for most of it:
- Pages that quietly ranked are merged or deleted, with no redirects and no baseline
- The brief describes pages and colours, not the decisions your customers need to make
- Design, development, SEO and content run in parallel, but nobody owns the whole
- The new site looks good, but sales still cannot use it as a tool
- Nobody recorded a number before launch, so nobody can say whether it worked
The process
Relaunch in four steps: diagnosis before design.
Diagnose and baseline
Which pages bring rankings, traffic and enquiries today? Site audit, Search Console, analytics, conversion paths. The output is a list of what the relaunch must not break.
Target picture and structure
Who the website is for, which decisions it has to support, which pages it needs for that, and which it does not. Information architecture, page types, content model, redirect plan.
Brief and coordination
A brief an agency or developer can actually build from: wireframes, copy priorities, technical requirements for performance, tracking, hreflang and schema. N-2V coordinates everyone involved and keeps priorities current.
Launch and 90-day measurement
Pre-launch checklist, redirect test, indexing control, then 90 days of monitoring against the baseline. Whatever deviates gets prioritised and fixed, not debated.
Who it is for
For leadership teams that own a relaunch but do not build it themselves.
Particularly useful when:
- Your website no longer matches your positioning and you are about to select an agency
- You run several websites, suppliers and parallel projects and need one senior coordinating owner
- You are a B2B service firm or advisory practice that wins trust and enquiries through the website
- Your Shopify or ecommerce relaunch has to improve conversion and SEO at the same time
- A relaunch is already underway and nobody has checked what the current site quietly earns
- You want an independent view before signing off a large agency budget
How it differs
Relaunch consulting is not a relaunch agency.
An agency is paid for implementation. N-2V is paid for making sure the right implementation is commissioned: diagnosis before design, SEO as part of the relaunch rather than an afterthought, one owner across agency, developers, copywriters and your team, and a baseline before launch so the result can be measured after 30, 60 and 90 days.
If you only need a new template installed, or a relaunch that should simply look fresh without a target picture, an agency alone is the cheaper route. If the question is what the relaunch has to achieve and how to get there without losing what already works, this is the better starting point.

Start with a Relaunch Alignment Sprint.
Two weeks that decide whether a relaunch is the right answer at all. Before any budget is committed, you receive:
- A relaunch audit with baseline: rankings, traffic, enquiries, technical findings
- A target picture and page structure as one agreed document
- A decision paper: full relaunch, partial relaunch or continuous optimisation, with reasons
- A 90-day roadmap with priorities, owners and measurement points
- A leadership decision meeting
Common questions
Before you commission an agency.
What does website relaunch consulting cost?
Consulting and implementation are separate budgets. The entry point is the fixed-price Alignment Sprint; relaunch support then runs as a monthly retainer sized by the number of suppliers, pages and markets. A clean brief usually makes the agency's implementation cheaper, not more expensive, because change requests and correction loops disappear.
How long does a website relaunch take?
Diagnosis and target picture: two weeks. Brief, agency selection and implementation: two to six months depending on scope. After launch, 90 days of monitoring. A relaunch that has to be faster usually saves time on diagnosis and pays it back after launch.
Will we lose rankings during the relaunch?
A temporary dip is normal; a permanent loss is avoidable. What matters is a complete URL map with 301 redirects, preserved content on the pages that rank today, internal linking that stays or improves, and a baseline to measure against after launch.
Do we need a relaunch at all?
Not always. If structure, technology and content model allow step-by-step improvement, a partial relaunch or continuous optimisation is often cheaper and lower risk. That is exactly what the Alignment Sprint settles before budget is committed.
Do you work with our existing agency?
Yes. N-2V does not replace an agency. It takes the role that is usually missing on the client side: target picture, prioritisation, brief, acceptance and measurement. The agency gets clearer input and fewer correction loops.
What role does Shopify play in a relaunch?
For merchants Shopify is often the right platform, also for content-heavy B2B websites. N-2V has owned several relaunches on Shopify and knows the limits of themes, apps and translations.
What happens after launch?
Ninety days of monitoring against the baseline: indexing, rankings, enquiries, Core Web Vitals. Deviations are prioritised and fixed. After that, the reporting decides whether an ongoing retainer makes sense.
