E-Commerce & SEO Audit · Hamburg
One audit for the whole shop: UX, SEO and conversion, ranked by what actually costs you revenue.
Most shop audits are a crawl report or a design opinion. Neither tells you which of the 200 findings to fix first.
N-2V audits your online store the way a buyer experiences it: acquisition, search, category and product pages, mobile, cart and checkout, technical SEO, trust and performance. The output is a prioritised plan with owners and measurement points, not a list.

The problem
Traffic grows, revenue does not, and every tool blames a different cause.
An SEO tool reports 340 issues. The agency proposes a redesign. The developer says the theme is fine. Nobody can say where qualified visitors actually lose trust or momentum. Five patterns we see most often:
- Tracking is incomplete, so the funnel cannot be segmented by device, channel or market
- Navigation and categories mirror the internal range structure, not how customers decide
- Product pages leave the questions open that decide a purchase: size, material, delivery, returns
- Shipping costs and delivery times appear too late, in the cart or at checkout
- Apps and scripts have accumulated until mobile is slow and nobody dares remove one
The process
An audit in four steps, from business context to a plan you can act on.
Context and data
Goals, margin priorities, markets, traffic sources, analytics and Search Console. We fix the tracking gaps first, otherwise every later finding rests on guesswork.
Journey review
Acquisition, navigation, search, category and product pages, mobile, cart and checkout, reviewed on real devices against real customer questions from support, reviews and search data.
Technical and SEO review
Indexing, canonicals, filters and pagination, metadata, internal linking, structured data, Core Web Vitals, app and script load. Findings tied to the pages that earn money, not a generic score.
Prioritised plan
Every finding rated by impact, evidence, effort and risk, grouped into quick wins, strategic projects, research needed and watch. Owners, dependencies, measurement points and a 30-60-90 day sequence.
Who it is for
For shop owners and ecommerce leads who need a decision, not another report.
Particularly useful when:
- Traffic or ad spend is rising but conversion and revenue per visitor are not
- You are about to commission a redesign, migration or new theme and want to know whether it is necessary
- Several agencies, freelancers and apps touch the shop and nobody owns the whole journey
- You are expanding into the German or European market and need the shop to work for those customers
- Search Console shows indexing, canonical or Core Web Vitals warnings and nobody can rank them
- You want an independent second opinion before signing off an agency proposal
How it differs
An SEO crawl is not an ecommerce audit.
A crawl finds technical faults. A UX review finds usability faults. An ecommerce audit connects both to the business: which pages earn revenue, where qualified visitors drop out, what the fix costs and what it risks. The result is a ranked backlog that a developer, an agency or your own team can execute in order, and a measurement plan that shows after 30, 60 and 90 days whether it worked.
If you only need a technical crawl report, an SEO tool is cheaper. If you need to know what to do first, and why, this is the better starting point.
What the audit covers
Fifteen areas, one prioritised plan.

-
Business context and analytics
Goals, margin priorities, markets, event tracking, consent gaps, segmentation and a reliable baseline.
-
Acquisition and landing pages
Does every campaign and search intent land on a page that matches the promise and offers a next step.
-
Navigation, search and product discovery
Menus in customer language, useful filters, search that understands synonyms and typos, zero-result handling.
-
Category and product pages
Price, variants, availability, delivery, returns, proof and images that answer the questions that decide a purchase.
-
Mobile, cart and checkout
Core journeys on small screens, transparent totals, payment methods for the target market, error messages that can be resolved.
-
Technical SEO and structured data
Indexability, canonicals, filters and pagination, metadata, internal linking, sitemaps, valid schema that matches visible content.
-
Performance, accessibility and trust
Core Web Vitals on real templates, app and script load, keyboard and contrast basics, company identity and legal information findable.

Two weeks. One plan. Then you decide.
The E-Commerce Audit runs as a fixed two-week engagement. You receive:
- A tracking check and a documented baseline: conversion, add-to-cart, checkout completion, revenue per visitor
- Findings with evidence across all fifteen areas, rated by impact, evidence, effort and risk
- A prioritised backlog: quick wins, strategic projects, research needed, watch
- A 30-60-90 day plan with owners, dependencies and measurement points
- A decision meeting: optimise step by step, partial rebuild or full relaunch, with reasons
Common questions
Before you book an audit.
What does an ecommerce audit cost?
The audit is a fixed-price two-week engagement; the price depends on the number of templates, markets and languages in scope. Implementation is a separate decision afterwards, with your team, your agency or N-2V as coordinating owner.
Is this an SEO audit?
Technical SEO is one of fifteen areas. An SEO crawl alone tells you what is technically wrong; it does not tell you where customers lose trust or which fix earns the most. The audit connects SEO, UX, conversion, performance and analytics into one ranked plan.
Which data do you need?
Read access to analytics and Search Console, campaign context, product and margin priorities, support questions, reviews and return reasons, plus a short conversation with whoever runs the shop day to day. Missing data is itself a finding.
Do you work with Shopify only?
Most of our ecommerce work is on Shopify, including B2B and content-heavy stores, but the audit method is platform-independent. Platform-specific findings are marked as such.
Will the audit recommend a redesign?
Only if the evidence shows that structure or technology block step-by-step improvement. In most shops the first plan is a sequence of targeted changes, not a rebuild.
Can our agency implement the plan?
Yes. The backlog is written so a developer or agency can execute it in order. N-2V can stay on as coordinating owner, run the measurement and review, or hand over completely.
How is success measured?
Against the baseline recorded in week one: conversion, add-to-cart, checkout completion, revenue per visitor and qualified organic traffic, segmented by device and market, reviewed after 30, 60 and 90 days.
